![]() ![]() Especially the unlocking of extra content and the medal at the end of each chapter telling you how well you've done. So far I feel that it's a fun game, but not a great game. Create some tension.I'll be checking the game out. Although it would be nice in the scenario that you highlighted, if the enemy tank would try to blow you out of the building. While you hide behind the crates full of Panzer Fausts popping up to shoot the tank (4 shots to kill it)Still despite stuff like my example the game is really fun and it can get challenging in the later levels. In the game all you have to do is get your squad to hide behind a wall, wooden or stone the tank wont be able to hit them. Now in reality you and your squad would go inside the houses and get behind the tank and take it out. The tank is in a small courtyard with a few walls and in one area there is a crate full of Panzer Fausts. For instance in one level you are tasked with destroying a tank, more precisly a 38t. If you are concerned about total realism there are bigger issues with the game. All the cover you will find is highenough that you can kneel behind it and be fine. I am sure there are more, but thats all I can think right now.Caveat: This is different and harder than a standard FPS. A good way I think to describe it is that if you played all the way through without dying and recorded it, never using overview mode, you would probably have a really good WWII movie!graphics and sounds are top notch. ![]() The "overview" mode where the game freezes and you jump out of your bady is very cool, helpful, but not so much that everything is given away. Spend too long thinking and they will advance and take all the cover. Give them an opening and they'll take it. Conscripts are pretty easy to kill, but the regular infantry is tenacious and deadly. The Germans know about the flanking and will often send someone to stop you depending on the quality of the troops. Good game, plays as advertised, FUN.In regards to ChrisG's comments, psoitioning your sqaud is pretty tough sometimes as you usually have less to work with than the Germans. There is very little "game" stuff (health bars and such) on screen all the time. AI seems pretty good so far, on both sides. Best character models and animation ever. The save system is till checkpoint, but they are close enough so as not to piss you off. You have the choice of reticle or not, and hints and "enemy marks" or not. Nice chunky weapon sounds, and the weapons are not too accurate. Ammo is scarce for you, so protracted standoffs are a no-no too. The maps are HARD as they require squad tactics. I mean you know the guys on the ground then weren't saying "cripes!" The squad control works as advertised and is very cool. Many will read that as "yay, foul language!" and not care but it really helps the immersion factor. The dialog is awesome, not dumbed down or sanitized at all. Yeah I'm playing it, and it is awesome! VERY cinematic - especially the first section. ![]()
